Host America made a flying start by clinching a seven-wicket win over Canada in the inaugural match of the ICC Men's World Cup.
Chasing the 195-run target set by Canada, America reached it in 17.4 overs losing three wickets.
Aaron Jones topped the score with 94 runs studded with four fours and 10 sixes off 40 balls and remained not out.
Similarly, Andries Gous bit 65 runs including seven fours and three sixes off 46 deliveries. Captain Monank Patel contributed 16 runs while Corey Anderson collected 3 runs.
In reply, Kaleem Sana, Dilon Heyliger and Nikhil Dutta grabbed one wicket each for Canada.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, Canada notched up 194 runs.
Navneet Dhaliwal topped the score with 61 runs including six fours and three sixes off 44 balls followed by Nicholas Kirton with 51 runs. Shreyas Movva and Aaron Johnson contributed 32 and 23 runs, respectively.
On the bowling side, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, and Corey Anderson took one wicket each for America.
The much-awaited ICC World Cup is taking place in the United States of America which kicked off Dallas at 6:15 am (according to Nepali time) today.
To be jointly hosted by America and West Indies, the World Cup will run for a month.
America and Canada both are debuting in the World Cup.
This is the first time America is hosting the mega event of the ICC.
On the other hand, West Indies had already hosted a 50-over World Cup in 2007 and T20 World Cup in 2010.
Similarly, it has also organized the ICC Women's T20 World Cup two times.
Aaron Jones is declared the Player of the Match.
