Thirty-two year-old Madan Bohara of Jayaprithvi Municipality-11, Bajhang, used to work as a watchman in Bangalore.

His wife and three kids were staying with him. On Wednesday, he returned to his room after his duty at night and started cooking. All of a sudden, the cooking gas exploded. The explosion took place due to cooking gas leakage, killing all the five family members including Madan.

Critically injured Madan and family members, who were taken to local Victoria Hospital, succumbed to their injuries in the course of treatment, his relative Damodar Dhami told Nepalkhabar.

Five-year-old Prashanta died on the same day when the incident took place, daughter Anita, 9, passed away on Friday while Madan's wife Premjala, 30, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. Madan passed away on Sunday night while his 12-year-old daughter succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning, according to Dhami.

“The economic condition of Madan’s family was very weak. We were treating them at the hospital by raising fund,” Dhami said, “Unfortunately, we could not save even a single member of the family.”

The final rights of five family members have been performed in Bangalore itself.

Only two months ago, Madan’s 60-year-old father Bishnu and mother Junkala, 55, had gone to Bangalore to meet their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

They are now in a state of shock and mourning over the untimely death of their loved ones.

Madan had been staying in Bangalore for the past six months.
