England has entered the semi-finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 after registering a comfortable victory over the host USA.
England thrashed America by 10 wickets in the match held on Sunday night, becoming the first team to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing World Cup.
England achieved the target of 116 runs set by America in 9.4 overs without losing a wicket.
Phil Salt and captain Jos Buttler shared an unbeaten partnership of 117 runs for the first wicket.
While captain Jos Buttler scored 83 not-out runs off 38 balls including six fours and seven sixes, Phil Salt remained unbeaten with 25 runs off 21 balls.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, America scored 115 runs in 18.5 overs losing all wickets.
Nitish Kumar's 30-run score was the highest for America. Corey Anderson contributed 29 runs. Harmeet Singh scored 21 runs and Steven Taylor contributed 12 runs.

On the bowling side, Chris Jordan took four wickets including a hat-trick for England to stop America at a low score. Sam Curran and Adil Rashid took two wickets each. Liam Livingstone claimed one wicket.
England, who is placed in Group B of the Super Eight, booked its berth in the last four by scoring four points from three matches.
With this win, the host America crashed out of its journey to the World Cup, without winning a single match in the Super Eight.
Similarly, the match between West Indies and South Africa scheduled for this morning will determine which team will make it to the semi-finals.
While South Africa has four points from two matches, West Indies has two points from the same matches.
