Visiting Chinese Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong has paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday morning.
In the meeting held at the Office of the President in Sheetal Niwas a while ago, the entire gamut of bilateral interests, concerns and cooperation were discussed, the President’s secretariat said.
President Paudel during the meeting said that China has been a development partner for a long time contributing to the development efforts of the Himalayan nation.
The President expressed his belief that China would keep assisting Nepal even after graduating to a developing country from the list of the least developed countries in 2026.
Meanwhile, the President emphasized the long-standing friendly relations between the Nepali and Chinese people, citing the historical contributions of figures like Nepali artist Arniko, Princess Bhrikuti, and monks from both countries who fostered cultural exchanges.
