A program was organized to mark the Pushpalal birth anniversary at Siddhicharan Hall of Nepal Academy in Kamaladi on Saturday.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who reached Chitwan yesterday to participate in a program, hastily returned to Kathmandu.

Along with Prime Minister Prachanda, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, CP Gajurel, Bamdev Gautam, Dev Gurung, CP Mainali, Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' among others were invited.

When Prachanda returned to Kathmandu after celebrating Paddy Day in Bharatpur, UML Chairman Oli, who was residing in Bhaktapur, did not participate in the Pushpa Lal birth anniversary event at Kamaladi.

According to the information given to Nepalkhabar by a high level source of UML, Oli skipped Kamaladi's program and had a meeting with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur.

Sources claim that Deuba reached Balkot at 3:30 pm to meet Oli.

While leaders including Prachanda and Madhav were discussing the necessity of left-wing unity at the event organized to mark the birth anniversary of Pushpa Lal, the founder leader of the Communist Party, Oli was busy meeting with the president of the opposition alliance.

Sources claim that the two-hour-long discussion between Oli and Deuba took place in Balkot. However, the topics of conversations have not yet been divulged.

This meeting between UML President Oli and NC President Deuba, the main component of the ruling coalition, has been viewed as meaningful.

Deuba reached Balkot with his wife Arzu Rana.
