CPN (UML) has withdrawn its support to the government after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ did not resign within the give time-frame.

UML has officially decided to withdraw its support to the government and is informing the Prime Minister about it in writing in a while, said UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula.

“We had given the deadline to Prime Minister Prachanda till today for his graceful exit. But he did not tender his resignation,” said Bartaula, “Hence, we were forced to recall our UML ministers from the government and withdraw our support to it for the formation of a new government.”

A meeting of the UML central secretariat held on Tuesday had given a 24-hour deadline for his graceful exit from the government.

UML decided to withdraw its support to the government after Prime Minister Dahal did not step down within the given deadline, Bartaula has said.
