Son killed, mother rescued alive as landslide washes away their house

A person died and another was rescued alive when a landslide fell on their house at Pokhara Metropolitan City-27 in Kaski district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kaski, 22-year-old Bhim Bahadur Thapa died after a landslide fell at his house at Sahelpata in Pokhara-27 around 4 am on Wednesday.

Bhim Bahadur, the son of 51-year-old Man Bahadur Thapa, died in a landslide that fell on his house made of clay.

Kamala Thapa, 50, the mother of Bhim Bahadur, was rescued safely, said DSP Sharma.

"The landslide washed away the mother and son while they were sleeping inside the house. The son was found dead while the mother was rescued safely," DSP Sharma told Nepalkhabar.

According to the police, Man Bahadur cheated death since he was not at home when the incident occurred.
