Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Manoj KC has been transferred to the National Police Academy from the Special Bureau at the Nepal Police Headquarters.

After being promoted to DIG around two months ago, he was posted to the Special Bureau. However, with the change of government, KC has become the first target. KC is the officer who forwarded the file of the fake Bhutanese refugee. When he was the head of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the investigation of the refugee case was taken forward.

Last time Bechan Jha was also brought from India when Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar was abroad. The Indian police arrested Bechan and Pratik Thapa and repatriated them to Nepal in coordination with the Special Bureau.

An investigation into Bechan, which is considered important for information about the involvement of many VIPs, is pending in the court. Pratik remains in custody for the previous case, awaiting trial. As the investigation into Bechan is still incomplete, KC has been removed from the bureau and transferred to the National Police Academy.

Rajan Adhikari, a batch mate of KC has been brought to the Special Bureau from the Nepal Police Academy. KC's relationship with Inspector General of Police Kunwar has also deteriorated, of late.

Similarly, the government is also preparing to transfer CIB chief AIG Shyam Lal Gyawali and District Police Range, Kathmandu chief SSP Basanta Rajaure.

Although preparations are underway to remove the CIB chief immediately, the Ministry of Home Affairs is preparing to transfer Kathmandu Police Chief Rajaure only after the investigation into Bechan is over.
