Nepal and India are locking their horns for the CAVA Women's Volleyball Nations League title today (Wednesday).
The final match will be held at the National Sports Council covered hall in Tripureshwar at 5 pm. The Nepali team is entering the field with high spirits after clinching a win over India 3-2 in the group stage. This is a historic win against India in the CAVA Women's Volleyball. Nepal wants to repeat the same win in today's match.
Nepal which lost to Iran 3-2 in the group stage exacted revenge on Iran with straight sets of 25-21, 28-26, and 25-20 in the second semi-finals on Tuesday to set up a final against India.
This is an opportunity for Nepal to exact revenge on India for its defeat in the home ground five years ago.
In the 13th South Asian Games held in Nepal in 2019, Nepal suffered a 3-2 defeat against India in the final of the women's volleyball tournament.
Similarly, India booked berth in the final for the second time by defeating Iran in straight sets. India wants to repeat its history by defeating Nepal in today's match.
Likewise, Iran and Sri Lanka are facing each other for the third place. The match will start at 2 pm. Iran lost to Nepal while India defeated Sri Lanka.
