Nepal has made a flying start in a football tournament under the SAFF U-20 Championship held in a home ground on Sunday.
Nepal clinched a win over Sri Lanka 1-0 in an inaugural match held at ANFA Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur today.
The goal scored by Nirajan Dhami in the first half became decisive for Nepal. In the 24th minute of the game, Nirajan Dhami scored a goal giving an early lead to Nepal against Sri Lanka.
Nirajan's powerful shot which bypassed seven players including the Sri Lankan goalkeeper before hitting the net of the post. Since no more goals were scored in the tournament from the Sri Lanka side, Nepal won the match.
Despite having a chance to take the lead, in the second half of the match, Nepal failed to take advantage of it and lost the chance to widen the lead.
Even though the main objective of her India visit was for treatment, her Indian counterpart sent a letter to Minister Rana, giving an official recognition to her India visit.
After wrapping up her five-day India visit that includes her treatment and high-level visits, Rana will return home on August 22, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
