Adverse weather has created problems in transporting the bodies of five Russian mountaineers who died while climbing Mt Dhaulagiri.
Due to adverse weather and geography, there was a problem in bringing the dead bodies of five Russian mountaineers who were found dead at the height of 7,100 meters of Dhaulagiri.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bharat Shrestha, also Chief of District Police Office Myagdi informed that the police team including Sherpas went to Dhaulagiri via helicopter today to bring back the dead bodies but returned only after inspecting the incident site due to adverse weather.
"The bodies of five people have been found in a place where the helicopter failed to land and people can't reach on foot as well", he said,
According to the police, the bodies of Russians Alexander Dusheyko, Oleg Kruglov, Vladimir Chistikov, Mikhail Nosenko and Dmitri Shpilevol were found on Tuesday. Through IM Trekking and Expedition, 14 male mountaineers from Russia went to climb the Dhaulagiri Mountain.
Nine climbers canceled the climb and returned. The world's seventh highest (8,167 m) Dhawalagiri Himal is located in Dhawalagiri rural municipality-4 of Myagdi.
According to the tourism department, 14 people from Russia had taken permission to climb Dhaulagiri during the current autumn season.
