A Chinese tourist, who went missing while heading to Mardi Himal Base Camp in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality-9, has been rescued safely after two days.
The Chinese tourist, who left for Mardi Himal Base Camp on October 8 after staying at Hotel Namaste in High Camp, went missing after she took up the wrong trail.
Mardi Himal Base Camp is the highest point of the trek situated at an altitude of 4,200 meters.
Following the information about the missing of the Chines tourist, a team of locals, tourist police, tourism entrepreneurs, people's representatives had launched a search campaign and eventually rescued her from a place called Kolange on Friday, said ward chairman of Machhapuchchhre-9, Hari Bahadur Chhetri.
"We noticed shoe prints just below the source of Mardi River. We followed the shoe prints, calling her at the top of our voices. We heard her responses and eventually tracked down her near the bank of the Mardi Rivulet," said ward chair Chhetri.
