An aircraft of Buddha Air bound for a mountain flight this morning has made an emergency landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
The flight number 100 9N AJS was forced to make an emergency landing at the airport due to a problem with the engine, the company has said.
"After noticing a problem with the engine, the flight was diverted and forced to make an emergency landing at the TIA. Our technical squad is making a thorough inspection of the engine of the aircraft," Buddha Air has mentioned on social networking site X.
The flight was diverted for an emergency landing at the TIA almost 15 minutes after it took off at 6 am for a mountain flight, said Spokesperson of Buddha Air, Dipendra Karna.
"The mountain peaks were also not visible due to adverse weather," Spokesperson Karna told Nepalkhabar,"While returning to Kathmandu, the problem was noticed with the right engine of the aircraft, not in the course of the mountain flight."
A total of 35 passengers were onboard the aircraft, according to Karna.
