Speaker Devraj Ghimire has directed to submit the bills sub-judice in the parliamentary committees in the upcoming meeting of the House of Representatives.
In the meeting held with the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees and the chief whips and the whips of the political parties in Singha Durbar today, Speaker directed to this effect.
Speaker during the meeting inquired about the number of bills sub-judice in parliamentary committees and the time duration for their endorsement, informed the chairperson of the Industry, and Commerce and Labor and Consumers Welfare Committee of the parliament, Abdul Khan.
The committee chairpersons in the meeting said that the parliamentary meetings could not be convened following the prorogation of the budget session.
"The parliamentary meetings could not be convened due to the lack of quorum as most of the lawmakers went to their respective home districts after the budget session was prorogued," Khan told the Speaker.
Speaker held discussions with the committee chairpersons and the chief whips and whips at 11:30 am so as to make the upcoming winter session as productive as possible.
Present in the meeting were UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula, NC Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey and RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar and RPP Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi.
Following the meeting with the Speaker, UML Chief Whip Bartaula informed that Speaker Ghimire directed committee chairs to call parliamentary committee meetings.
