A meeting of the ruling alliance parties held in Baluwatar has said that the government has been working for the democratic system, rule of law, good governance and the effective service delivery of the people.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is addressing the nation from Singh Durbar on the 100-day of the formation of the government today, according to the prime minister's secretariat.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in the meeting said that the government has arrested former Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane for investigation on his alleged involvement in the misuse of cooperative funds, according to the secretariat.
The alliance concluded that the street demonstrations being staged by Lamichhane's supporters to influence the government and the court while the judicial investigation into the fund embezzlement case is not appropriate.
Expressing commitment toward democratic system, rule of law, democratic norms and values in the meeting, Prime Minister Oli urged all the ruling alliance parties to stand united for the national issues.
He vehemently stated said the government will not comprise with social harmony, and issues of national interests. "We have fought for the democracy. We won't compromise with issues related to anarchy, anti-national activities, and sovereignty," said Oli.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, UML Senior Vice Chairman Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Vice Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party Renu Kumari Yadav, Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal Vice Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur, Nagarik Unmukti Party Chairman Ranjita Shrestha and Janamat Party Chairman Dr CK Raut were present in the meeting.
