The weather in the Kathmandu Valley has been cloudy since early Saturday morning.

The sky of the Valley is covered in clouds, according to Rojan Lamichhane, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Forecasting Division.

"The weather of the Kathmandu Valley is partly to generally cloudy," said Lamichhane, "The sky is covered in clouds, veiling the sunshine."

The weather of the Valley has been influenced by the westerly and local winds and partly by the Dana Cyclone that lashed out at India recently, said Lamichhane.

"The Dana Cyclone has partly influenced the weather of Nepal. However, this cyclone is gradually weakening and so is its effect in Nepal," said he.

Even though the weather of the Valley is cloudy this morning, it will gradually clear toward the afternoon.

"There is a very slim possibility of rainfall in the Valley today," he said.

The cyclone called Dana which was formed in the Bay of Bengal made a landfall in the Odisha State of India on Thursday night. This cyclone had caused heavy rains amidst thunderstorms in West Bengal and Odisha.

Even though this cyclone lashed out at many parts of Odisha and West Bengal incurring damages to infrastructures including electric poles, no casualties were reported.

The cyclone weakens once it makes landfall, according to a meteorologist.
