Defending champion Bangladesh has reclaimed the title of the SAFF Women's Championship 2024.

Bangladesh lifted the trophy by defeating Nepal by 2-1 in the final match held at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu.

In the previous edition held in the home ground in 2022, Nepal had lost to Bangladesh 3-1.

Bangladesh clinched its second SAFF Women's Championship title, reaching the final for the third time. Nepal, on the other hand, finished as runner-up for the sixth time.

Nepal, who has played the final for the 12th time, has become the runner-up 12 times.

In the 77th minute of the second half, Bangladesh's Ritu Porna Chakma scored a goal to double Bangladesh's lead against Nepal.

Amisha Karki scored for Nepal in the 56th minute, capitalizing on a pass from Preeti Rai.

In the 23rd minute of the second half, Nepal's goalkeeper Anjila Tumbappo Subba made an excellent save by punching Maria Manda's shot.

In the 60th minute, Sabitra Bhandari's shot went wide of the second bar, and Nepal lost a good chance to take the lead.

Prior to that, Bangladesh took the lead against the home team with Monika Chakma's goal in the 53rd minute of the game.

The first half of the match between Nepal and Bangladesh had ended in a goalless draw.

In the second minute of the first half, Geeta Rana's attempted clearance hit the crossbar and fell to Tohura Khatun, who was unable to capitalize on the opportunity as her header was easily saved by Nepal's goalkeeper.

Amisha Karki had a chance to give Nepal the lead in the 10th minute, but her shot from Samba's pass struck the crossbar.

In the 33rd minute of the game, Bangladesh's Monika Chakma's free kick flew over the crossbar.
