Woman killed in Bhaktapur bus-bike collision

A woman was killed after a motorcycle she was riding was hit by a bus at Madhyapur Municipality-4, Chardobato in Bhaktapur on Sunday evening.

According to the District Police Office, Bhaktapur, the motorcycle, Bagmati Pradesh 02-028 Pa 0539, heading to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur was struck by a Mayur Yatayat bus, Bagmati Pradesh 01-006 Kha 2996, heading in the same direction.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Apsara Phuyal of Changunarayan-7, Bageshwari, the police said. She was a pillion rider.

Critically injured Phuyal breathed her last in the course of treatment at Bhaktapur International Hospital.

The police have taken both the bus and the motorcycle under control and are investigating the case.
