Dhan Prasad Pandit appointed Ambassador to Israel

Dhan Prasad Pandit has been appointed as the Nepali Ambassador to Israel.

President Ram Chandra Paudel on Wednesday appointed Pandit as the Nepali Ambassador to Israel in accordance with Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, Archana Khadka Adhikari, the spokesperson for the Office of President told Nepalkhabar.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on July 29, 2024, had recommended 18 individuals as ambassadors for different countries. Pandit had been recommended as the ambassador to Israel then.

A complaint had been filed against Pandit questioning his eligibility for the ambassadorial post due to his conviction by the Information Commission.

Following discussions on his complaint, the Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) had recommended Pandit for the post of ambassador on September 19.
