Students of Suwal International College have staged a demonstration at Maitighar Mandala demanding that their right to education be ensured.

A large number of medical students from the college took to the streets shouting slogans, “Ensure our right to education, stop police high-handedness, fulfill our demands.”

They took to the streets after knowing that the college where they are pursuing their study now is unregistered which put their future on hold.

Talking to Nepalkhabar, an agitating student pursuing HA course at the college said the authority concerned should address their problems (that) they are facing currently.

“The Ministry of Education either should provide permission to the college to run the courses or CTEVT should adjust them to the other colleges,” said the student.

Founded by Prakash Suwal, Suwal International College, which is based at Chundevi in Bhaktapur, is running courses of Nursing, Pharmacy and health assistant (HA).

The college has not been registered. Over 300 students are studying at the college, according to the college administration.
