Six people have died in a road accident in Kalikot district on Sunday afternoon.
The Bolero jeep crashed in the Kaprekhola in Palata Rural Municipality-3, Kalikot, Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai told Nepalkhabar.
The death toll is likely to rise as the jeep fell down some 150 meters into a perilous part of the rivulet, according to Bhattarai.
The ill-fated jeep was heading to Ward 9 from Ward 3 of the rural municipality, the police said. The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.
Preparations are underway to rescue the deceased and the injured on a helicopter, said Bhattarai. Earlier, Bhattarai had reported eight casualties.
