Former Home Minister Lamichhane remanded to 13 more days in custody

The Kaski District Court has remanded former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane to 13 more days into custody for investigation into the alleged embezzlement of funds from Suryadarshan Cooperative.

A bench of Judge Nawaraj Dahal of Kaki District Court took a decision to this effect.

With the verdict, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Lamichhane will remain into the police custody for 13 more days.

Lamichhane, who has been doing time in custody of the District Police Office, Kaski, since October 18, has was presented before the court for the fourth time today for the extension of his remand.

The 10-day remand extended for the third time expired on Saturday.

Then Managing Director of Gorkha Media Network Rabi Lamichhane along with vice chairman and former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, GB Rai, Ram Bahadur Khanal, the partner of GB Rai, the operator of Nature Herbs, and Leela Pachhai were produced before the court on the charge of misappropriating funds from Suryadarsharn Cooperative, Pokhara, the police said.
