The toll in the Bolero jeep accident that occurred at Palata Rural Municipality-3, Kalikot on Sunday afternoon has climbed to seven.
The number of deceased has reached seven after driver Dhaniram Rawat, 45, of Salyan, breathed his last in the course of treatment, a doctor at Karnali Province Hospital said.
The other dead include Dashkala Shahi, Padam Bam, Bhagawati Rokaya and Ganesh Shahi of Palata Rural Municipality-6, Chhaya Shahi of Palata-5, and Daman Rokaya of Palata-3.
Out of 19 people including the driver who were traveling in the jeep, Karnal Province 1 Ja 56, six people died on the sport and 13 others sustained injuries. The injured were airlifted by a Nepali Army helicopter to Surkhet from the accident site. They are undergoing treatment at Karnali Province Hopital in Kalagaun, Surkhet.

The accident took place when the jeep was heading to Thirpu of Ward 9 from Neta (Ward 3) of Palata Rural Municipality-6, Kalikot plunged into the Kaprekhola at Khin at around 2:50 pm yesterday.
The rugged hillside road and excessive number of passengers are attributed to the accident, according to Chief of District Police Office, Kalikot, Tek Bahadur Rawat. A staggering 19 people were traveling in the five-seater Bolero jeep, according to Rawat.
"The accident site lies in Palata Rural Municipality, a five to six-hour walk from the district headquarters Manma. It is likely that the accident occurred to due rough hillside road and the excessive number of passengers," said Rawat, "It was found that 19 people including the driver were traveling in the five-seater jeep."
The jeep had fallen some 500 meters into the Kaprekhola after it backtracked from the steep hillside road, Rawat added.
