Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, is arriving on a five-day visit to Nepal at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart CoAS of the Nepali Army, Ashok Raj Sigdel.
According to a press note issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepali Army, General Dwivedi will arrive in Kathmandu on November 20.
During the visit, President Ramchandra Paudel will confer an honorary rank of the General of the Nepali Army on Dwivedi. He will also pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Defense Minister Manbir Rai.
Similarly, during his five-day Nepal visit, Dwivedi will pay homage to the martyrs' memorial in the Army Pavilion, receive a ceremonial Guard of Honor at the Army Headquarters and remain engaged in an official meeting with General Sigdel, according to the press note.
Likewise, he will also interact with the student officers at the Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri and visit the Western Divisional Headquarters of the Nepali Army in Pokhara.
General Dwivedi will return home on November 24, wrapping up his five-day visit to Nepal.
