CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has instructed the leaders and cadres to fully engage for the victory of party candidates in the upcoming by-elections.
Addressing the candidacy announcement program in Kirtipur Municipality of Kathmandu for the local by-elections to be held on coming December 1, Chair Dahal urged party leaders and cadres to make maximum efforts for the victory of party candidates, along with a self-review and correction .
He further noted that Kirtipur area carries the glory of history and cultures along with the sacrifices made for change in the country.
The party has announced the candidacy of Prof Dr Shiva Narayan Maharjan for the post of mayor of Kirtipur.
Similarly, the party has nominated Ashtaman Maharjan for the post of chair of Ward No. 1 and Narayan Bista for the chair of Ward No. 4 in the municipality.
Announcing the candidates, Saral Sahayatri, Chair of Bagmati Province of the Maoist Center informed that the district and province have unanimously approved the recommendation from the local level of the party. (RSS)
