Senior Journalist Kuvera Chalise has been appointed as the Consulting Editor of Nepalkhabar.
Nepalkhabar's Editor-in-Chief Purna Basnet welcomed Chalise amidst a ceremony organized at the meeting hall of the office on Monday.
Welcoming Chalise to the media house, Editor-in-Chief Basnet expressed confidence that his decades of experience, particularly in business, would elevate Nepalkhabar to a new height.
"Chalise is an experienced journalist. We are hopeful that his decades of experience, particularly in business, will elevate Nepalkhabar to a new height."
Expressing his views following his appointment as the Consulting Editor of Nepalkhabar, Chalise pledged to elevate Nepalkhabar to the next level in every way possible during his tenure with the organization.
"Despite their potential, news portals in Nepal are still struggling to win the trust of visitors due to various factors, compared to the print," said Chalise, "I will leave no stone unturned to take Nepalkhbar to the next level in every way possible, particularly in terms of business growth, during my tenure with the organization."
With nearly three decades of experience in print and electronic media, Chalise most recently served as Editor-in-Chief at clickmandu.com before joining Nepalkhabar.
He had started his journalism career with vernacular national daily the Himalaya Times in 1998 before joining Himalayan Broadcasting Corporation (HBC) 94 FM as a Program Producer in 1999.
Similarly, Chalise worked as a special correspondent in Nepal Times, an English socio-political-economic fortnightly and Dibya Gyan, a vernacular socio-political-economic fortnightly before joining The Himalayan Times, English daily in 2001 as a sub-editor.
Chalise resigned as a Business and Economy Bureau Chief of The Himalayan Times in July, 2013 and joined vernacular national daily Annapurna Post in January 2014.
In July 2015, he joined Nepal Republic Media as the Joint Business and Economy Bureau Chief of both Nagarik, a vernacular national daily newspaper and Republica, an English national daily newspaper.
Chalise also held the position of Editor at Karobar National Economic Daily from 2017 to 2022.
