Three including driver injured as truck plunges into Trishuli

A truck heading to Kathmandu carrying rice from Nawalparasi has plunged into the Trishuli River on Tuesday morning.

According to Police Inspector Prahlad Silwal of District Police Office, Dhading, the truck with the registration number, Lu 2 Kha 25, veered off and fell into the Trishuli River at Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-10, Khayarghari at around 6 am today.

Three people including the driver sustained injuries in the incident.

"We have rescued three people including the driver and taken them to the clinic for treatment," Silwal told Nepalkhabar, "The truck was heading to Kathmandu carrying rice from Nawalparasi when it fell into the Trishuli River."

The injured are truck driver Ashish Mahato, 27, co-driver Raju Thapa, 26, and truck owner Suresh Gurung, 46, of Khairahani Municipality, the police said.

The police said they are investigating the case.
