Tika Chaudhary, the candidate of the Nepali Congress (NC), has been elected as the chief of the District Coordination Committee, Kailali.
Chaudhary was elected unopposed after Nagarik Unmukti Party's candidate Rupamati Dagaura withdrew her candidacy from the post.
She withdrew her candidacy in the presence of leaders including NUP leader Laxman Kishor Chaudhary, Tikapur Municipal Chief Dagaura Tharu, Nepali Congress Kailali President Narayan Datta Bhatta.
NC and NUP had filed candidacies for the chief of District Coordination Committee, Kailali.
The by-election is being held for the post lying vacant after DCC Chief Padam Bahadur Kalel passed away in the course of treatment on January 7, 2023.
