A father has died and his two sons have been injured in a motorcycle accident in Triyuga, Udayapur.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Mahadev Chaudhary of Triyuga Municipality-13, informed DSP Rajan Chapagain of the District Police Office, Udayapur. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening.
‘The accident occurred after a motorcycle (Pra. 1-05-001 Pa 4273) collided with a tractor (Sa 1 Ta 5742) coming from the opposite direction at Danuwari Chowk in Triyuga Municipality-13 on the Mid-Hill Highway,’ DSP Chapagain told Nepalkhabar, ‘The two injured sons are out of danger.’
Chaudhary’s sons, 15-year-old Diwakar Chaudhary and 10-year-old Krishna Chaudhary, who sustained injuries in the accident, were sent to Biratnagar for further treatment after receiving preliminary treatment at the District Hospital in Gaighat last night.
Mahadev was returning home from Gaighat with his two sons on the back of the motorcycle when the accident occurred. Police have stated that the accident may have been caused due to over speed.
Police said they are investigating the case after taking the tractor driver into custody while the body of the deceased has been kept at the morgue of the district hospital for postmortem.
