Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who is on a five-day official visit to Nepal, has received an honorary rank of the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of the Nepali Army.
President Ramchandra Paudel conferred the honorary CoAS rank of the Nepali Army on General Dwivedi amidst a ceremony organized at Shital Niwas on Thursday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav among others were present on the occasion.

Dwivedi, who came to Kathmandu on Wednesday, was offered the guard of honor by a troop of Nepali Army at the army headquarters in Bhadrakali. He also offered floral tributes to the war memorial at the Nepali Army Pavilion, Tundikhel.
Similarly, Dwivedi also held a bilateral talks with his Nepali counterpart, Ashok Raj Sigdel, earlier in the day today. The official meeting between the two army chiefs was focused on mutual partnership and interests between the militaries of the two countries.
During the talks, brief information about Nepali Army's duties and responsibilities, and the work performance was presented, NA Spokesperson Gaurav Kumar KC said.
