Sharma picked as board member of adaptation fund

The Least Developed Countries (LDCs) Group (Group of 45 Countries) has again nominated Naresh Sharma as a member of the Adaptation Fund Board under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for the next term 2025-26.

Sharma has been re-elected as the board member in the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) underway in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

The Fund has been extending financial assistance to implement adaptation actions in different countries through the multilateral, regional and national implementation mechanisms.

Currently, Sharma is in the role of the chairperson of the Accreditation Panel under the Adaptation Fund.
