Prachanda to be guardian of two daughters of Nagarkoti couple killed by Jhankri Bhujel's car

CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has announced to become the guardian of two young daughters of the Nagarkoti couple who lost their lives after being hit by Jhankri Prakash Bhujel's vehicle.

According to the Prachanda's secretariat, Maoist Center Chairman reached the house of late Narayan Nagakoti and his spouse Sanumaya Nagarkoti on Monday evening and offered condolences to the family members of the deceased.

During the visit, Prachanada announced that he would take on the role of guardian for two young daughters of late Nagarkoti couple –Garima and Anu, the Prachanda's secretariat said.

"Chairman Prachanda visited the house of late Narayan Nagarkoti,38, and his wife Sanumaya Nagarkoti, 32, in Kageshwari Manohara-2, Alapot to extend condolences to the bereaved family members," reads a press note issued by Prachanda's secretariat on Tuesday morning, "During the visit, Chairman Prachanda announced to become the guardian of two daughters of the deceased Nagarkoti couple – Garima and Anu."

On November 13, the motorcycle-borne Nagarkoti couple were struck by the vehicle driven by self-proclaimed shaman Jhankri Prakash Bhujel on the Sankhu-Thali road section in Shankharapur Municipality-9. The critically injured couple passed away in the course of treatment.

Jhankri Bhujel is currently doing time in police custody.
