A coworker was murdered in cold blood while he was sleeping in Makawanpur last night.
Jit Bahadur Moktan, a resident of Pratapur Lachka, Manahari Rural Municipality-6, was struck to death with a shavel, according to the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
He was killed by his fellow worker Amar Bahadur Lopchan at around 1 am today while he was sleeping.
According to the police, both Ammar Bahadur and Jit Bahadur are laborers. They often slept together at Jit Bahadur's house.
They slept at Jit Bahadur's house last night. During a minor dispute, Ammar Bahadur started beating Jit Bahadur. Jit Bahadur, who was seriously injured in the beating, including the blow with the shavel, was sent to Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan for treatment.
"He died during treatment," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shyam Aryal, police spokesperson at the District Police Office, Makawanpur, "His body is currently kept at a government hospital in Chitwan."
Meanwhile, Police have taken Ammar Bahadur under control and have initiated investigation into the case.
