A person died and another sustained critical injuries in a road accident that occurred in Madhyapurthimi Municipality-3, Gaththaghar on Thursday morning.
Jite Dyula of Dyula settlement in Bhaktapur Municipality-5 was critically injured and his spouse Nabina died in the accident, the District Police Office, Bhaktapur said.
The accident took place when a truck heading toward Kathmandu hit a scooter the Dyula couple were riding.
The injured is undergoing treatment at the Citizen Community Hospital. Police have impounded the truck and arrested its driver Buddha Bahadur Ghalan of Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality-4.
