Chitwan Rhinos has registered an 87-run win against Pokhara Avengers in the fifth match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2024.
Chitwan bowled out Pokhara for 74 runs in 13.2 overs while the latter was chasing the 162-run target.
Sohail Tanvir, Rijan Dhakal and Luc Benkenstein took 3 wickets each for Chitwan while Deepak Bohara claimed 1 wicket each to restrict Pokhara from reaching the target.
Narayan Joshi's 30-run score became the highest for Pokhara. Joshi hit 3 fours and 2 sixes off 24 deliveries while Marcus Critchley collected 17 runs. The other batsmen crumbled early, without reaching even double-digit runs.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Chitwan notched up 161 runs losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ravi Bopara topped the score with 51 runs including 3 fours and 3 sixes followed by Kushal Malla with 38 runs.
Luc Benkenstein made 16 runs, Hassan Eiskhil hit 14 runs and Amar Routela contributed 13 not out runs. Similarly, Santosh Karki and Sharad Vesawkar contributed 11 runs each.
On the bowling side, Bipin Khatri, Bas de Leede, and Raymon Reifer took 2 wickets each while Sagar Dhakal claimed 1 wicket for Pokhara.
Earlier, Chitwan had defeated Kathmandu Gurkhas by 5 wickets in the first match.
