Three including asthma patient killed in Butwal jeep accident

Three people have died in a Bolero jeep accident in Butwal near Tinau Bridge in Rupandehi district along the East West Highway.

According to DSP Bijaya Raj Pandit of Area Police Office, Butwal, a Bolero jeep, Lu 3 Cha 2480, met with an accident near Tinau Bridge on Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as 71-year-old Tilakram Khanal of Butwal-12, Naya Gaun, his wife Gauri Khanal, 67, and jeep driver Hari Neuane, 32, said DSP Pandit. Jeep driver also used to stay at Butwal-12.

"The jeep which was ferrying a patient for treatment met with the accident," said Pandit, "Even though the three injured were whisked to the hospital, they were pronounced dead by the doctors."  

According to the police, the accident occurred when the jeep was transporting asthma patient Gauri Khanal to Lumbini Provincial Hospital for treatment from her home.
