TU appoints eight deans at one go

Tribhuvan University (TU) has appointed eight deans. A meeting of the TU Executive Council held on Saturday appointed deans to eight faculties and executive directors to three research centers. The appointment letters of those appointed are scheduled to be handed over today (Sunday).

According to TU spokesperson Amon Singh Bohara, Prof. Dr. Dubi Nanda Dhakal has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Similarly, Prof. Dr. Mohan Raj Sharma has been appointed as the Dean of the Institute of Medicine, Dr. Kishor Chandra Dahal as the Dean of the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Bed Raj Acharya as the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Thakur Silwal as the Dean of the Institute of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Mahananda Chalise as the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Sushil B. Bajracharya as the Dean of the Institute of Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Shankar Khanal as the Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology.

Similarly, the meeting has appointed Dr. Laxmikant Sharma as the Director of the Planning Directorate, Dr. Rajendra Kunwar as the Executive Director of Research Center for Educational Innovation Development, and Prof. Dr. Meena Rajbhandari as the Executive Director of Research Center for Applied Science and Technology.

Spokesperson Bohara said that the dean was appointed based on the recommendation of the selection committee based on meritocracy

In the senate meeting of TU held on December 12, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the Chancellor of TU, ​​had directed to appoint deans by December 22.

Oli had called for the appointment of deans and campus heads based on merit to ensure the smooth functioning of the university.
