Three including two young women killed in Japa road accidents

Three people, including two young women, died in a motorcycle accident in Jhapa last night.

The District Police Office, Jhapa, has stated that three people died in motorcycle accidents that occurred at two separate locations. Two people sustained critical injuries in the accidents.

Police have stated that a motorcycle (Province No. 1-01-015 Pa 1793) lost control of itself and crashed at Setumari Chowk in Damak Municipality-10.

The motorcycle driver, Biraj Thapa, 27, of Ratuwamai Municipality-8, Morang, the rider behind the motorcycle, Jamuna Dhimal, 32, of Gauradaha Municipality-5, Jhapa, and Om Kumari Rai, alias Manchari, 25, of the same place, were injured in the accident.

Police have stated that both women died during treatment at Damak Hospital. The motorcycle driver, Thapa, was also seriously injured in the accident. He has been referred to B and C Hospital, Birtamod, for further treatment.

Similarly, one person died when a motorcycle collided with a tractor at Shivasatakshi along the East-West Highway.

The motorcycle driver, Santosh Kumar Limbu, 42, of Mechinagar Municipality-5 in Jhapa, died when a motorcycle, Me 9 Pa 624, hit the tractor, Ko 2 Ta 4145, parked at Kirat Chok in Shivasatakshi Municipality-10 on the East-West Highway.

The motorcycle rider, Anita Rai, 35, of Damak Municipality-5, who was riding behind the motorcycle, was injured. She is undergoing treatment at B and C Hospital, Birtamod. Police have arrested the tractor driver and are carrying out investigation into the accident.
