The Supreme Court has quashed a writ petition filed against the land donated by Bhatbhateni Supermarket Chairman Min Bahadur Gurung for the construction of the CPN (UML)'s Central Office.

After hearing on the writ, a joint bench of Justices Abdul Aziz Musalman and Bal Krishna Dhakal ordered the dismissal of the writ petition.

In a preliminary hearing on the writ lodged by advocate Gyan Kumar Basnet, a single bench of Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel, on October 28, ordered a halt to the ongoing process arguing that the land donation appeared to be prima facie illegal.

Bhatbhateni Chairman Gurung has announced the donation of 10 ropanis and 14 annas of land located at Maitrinagar in Kirtipur Municipality to the CPN-UML.

He has also pledged to construct a building on the donated land. The foundation stone for this building was laid on October 11.
