Former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested on cooperative fraud case, has been remanded to four more days in police custody.
Kaski District Court upheld the four-day remand demanded by the district attorney office, informed record keeper Rajan Khanal of the court.
District Police Office, Kaski presented Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Lamichhane at the court for the final extension of Lamichhane's remand on Tuesday.
The police have been investigating Lamichhane on the embezzlements of funds from five cooperatives, an organized crime and money laundering.
Following his arrest on October 18, Lamichhane's statements have been recorded on embezzlements of funds of cooperatives in Butwal, Kathmandu, Chitwan and Parsa.
Lamichhane has been accused of misappropriating funds from Surydarshan (Pokhara), Suprme (Butwal), Swarnalakshi (Kathmandu), Sahara (Chitwan) and Sano Paila (Parsa).
