Father, son found murdered, another son missing in Balkot, Bhaktapur

A father and his son have been found murdered in cold blood at Suryabinayak-2, Balkot in Bhaktapur.

The deceased have been identified as 56-year-old Kul Prasad Acharya and his youngest son Prabin Acharya, 22, of Khotang, currently, staying at Balkot, District Police Range, Bhaktapur said.

"Kul Prasad Acharya, 56, and his son Prabin Acharya, 22, have been found murdered and another son has gone missing, "said SP Madhav Budhathoki of District Police Range, Bhaktapur.

Their bodies were found in the house locked from inside, the police said. The bodies of both Kul Prasad and Prabin bear injury marks. A team of District Police Range, Bhaktapur has reached the incident site and is investigating the case with a sniffer dog. Their bodies have been taken to TU Teaching Hospital for postmortem.

The eldest son Milan who was staying with them is out of contact. Police said they are searching for the missing son and investigating the case.

Kul Prasad, a Nayab Subba at the District Post Office, Khotang, had come to meet his two sons – Prabin and Milan on December 17.

His sons were staying at a rented room at Balkot in Bhaktapur. Out of two daughters, the eldest is a Nayab Subba while the youngest daughter is in Australia.

Kul Prasad had been staying with his wife in Diktel, the district headquarters of Khotang.
