The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), has halted its domestic flights due to lack of aircraft.
The NAC's domestic flights have been completely halted after the only Twin Otter aircraft in service was grounded.
Out of two Twin Otter aircraft for domestic flights, one has been grounded since last May, while the other was grounded recently.
Ramesh Paudel, spokesperson for the NAC, said that domestic flights have been halted since Sunday after the only aircraft was grounded due to technical problems.
"The aircraft has been temporarily grounded due to technical glitches," Paudel said, "We are currently working to address these issues and will resume flight services as soon as they are resolved."
The NAC has been operating domestic flights to remote areas from Kathmandu and regional airports. It has two wide-body A330 and two narrow-body A320 aircraft for international flights.
