A third round of tripartite meeting has been held to discuss the demands of former British Gorkha veterans in the London-based Defense Ministry of the United Kingdom (UK).
Issuing a press note on Thursday, the Nepali Embassy in London said the meeting dwelled on the issues of welfare and pension of the former Gorkha veterans.
While they discussed welfare issues including medical care, education and employment in the morning session, the pension issues, that were left pending in the previous talks, were dwelled on in detail in the afternoon session, according to the press note.
In the meeting, the British representatives agreed to announce dates for future negotiations through the British mechanism.
While Colonel Ratna Bahadur Godar, military attache of the Nepali Embassy and Second Secretary Ram Babu Nepal led the Nepali delegation in the talks, the British side was representated by various members of the British Defense Ministry.
Retired Major Jud Bahadur Gurung, who moderated on behalf of the ex-Gorkhas, said the important discussions were held on the issues of welfare and pension of the retired servicemen.
Similarly, former Majors Tikendra Dal Dewan, Major Udaya Bahadur Gurung, along with Keshav Bahadur Gurung and Dharma Bahadur Gurung represented the former veterans.
Likewise, the British side was represented by various members of the British Defense Ministry.
