The young man, who fled after leaving the deceased woman at Bagmati Hotel in Pingalasthan, Kathmandu, has been found dead in Okhaldhunga.
Twenty-two-year-old Sushmita Khadka of Kageshwari, Kathmandu, was found dead inside the hotel.
Dev Bahadur Thapa, 23, of Okhaldhunga, who was staying with her, was absconding. Police were searching for him after the incident.
He was found hanging in Sisneri, Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-3, Okhaldhunga on Saturday, informed DSP Krishna Khadka of Okhaldhunga.
They had gone to stay in Room Number 308 of Bagmati Hotel on the eve of the New Year 2025.
The girl was found dead inside the room when authorities forcibly opened the door, which had been latched from the inside. Police had suspected the murder behind the woman's death.
Dev Bahadur had recently returned to Nepal from Japan and was preparing to go to Japan again.
Sushmita was also preparing to go to Japan. She was studying Japanese.
