The country's air flights have been affected due to adverse weather. Domestic flights have been affected due to poor visibility caused by inclement weather.

Although Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flights are being operated at Tribhuvan International Airport, most airports outside Kathmandu have not been able to operate this morning. According to airport spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, flights have not been able to operate at airports outside Kathmandu except Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Pokhara and Surkhet.

Both domestic and international flights are being operated regularly at Kathmandu Airport. It is reported that flights have not been able to operate at some airports that have direct domestic flights from Kathmandu.

Buddha Air spokesperson Dipendra Kumar Karna said that although flights have been opened to Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Pokhara and Surkhet, flights have not been able to operate at other airports due to poor visibility. He said that airports are resuming operations late due to thick fog in the Terai region.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the weather is partly to generally cloudy in most parts of the country due to the partial effect of the westerly low-pressure system.

According to Binu Maharjan, a meteorologist at the Division, the weather is generally cloudy in the eastern regions of Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati and Madhes provinces, currently, while it is partially cloudy in Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces.

"It will be cloudier tomorrow than today with chances of light rain," said meteorologist Maharjan. "There is a possibility of light rain in the hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces."

She further said that there is a possibility of cloudy weather and rain as the westerly low-pressure system will have more influence on the weather of the country on Monday and Tuesday.
