Brigadier General Nakul Rayamajhi has been promoted to the post of Major General of the Nepali Army.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday evening promoted Rayamajhi to the post of Major General, a minister privy to the meeting told Nepalkhaba.
The post was lying vacant after Major General Pradeep Jung KC was promoted to the post of Lieutenant General.
The Nepali Army had issued a one-week notice regarding the promotion of Rayamajhi on November 22, seeking complaints against him, if any.
The Nepali Army recommended Rayamajhi for promotion to the Ministry of Defense after no complaints were lodged against him.
The Ministry of Defense had submitted a file to the Council of Ministers for recommendation only a few days ago.
