Kaski District Court seeks 8.8 mln bail from former DIG Banjade

The District Court, Kaski has sought Rs 8.8 million bail from former DIG Chhabilal Banjade Joshi.

A bench of Judge Nitij Rai sought the bail from Banjade in the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case.

Joshi and Lamichhane are business partners.

Charge-sheets have been filed against Lamichhane and Banjade on the charge of transferring funds from Suryadarshan Cooperative and embezzling them in an organized manner. They have also been charged with cases of money laundering and organized crimes.

Banjade had been taken to Pokhara after his arrest in Kathmandu on September 22.
