He was released on bail yesterday after he deposited the bail amount of Rs 6.5 million in Kaski after Kaski District Court ordered his release in bail over the case relating to the embezzlement of funds from a local Suryadarshan Cooperative, Pokhara.

Lamichhane, who is also the former Home Minister, was handed over to his family.

He is facing a similar case of misappropriation of fund in a cooperative in Kathmandu.

The hearing whether to continue remand for investigation lasted for 10 days.

The District Attorney Office, Kaski on December 22 had filed a case against 44 persons including Lamichhane, accusing them of embezzling the cooperative’s fund.

Further investigation on those released on bail would be continued.
