Journalist Janardan Pokharel has been honored with the 'Milan Nepali Shahasik Journalism Award-2080'.
Pokharel, who is also the Sub-Editor of Nepalkhabar, was awarded with a cash prize on the occasion of the Fifth District Convention of the Press Center Nepal, Lalitpur chapter, on Thursday.
Press Center Central Chairman Bishnu Sapkota alias Jugal presented Pokharel with a certificate of honor along with a cash prize at the event.
The program was attended by Federation of Nepali Journalists Central Treasurer Ram Krishna Adhikari, Federation of Nepali Journalists Lalitpur President Ramhari Karki, Press Center Senior Vice Chairman Kamal Giri, Vice Chairman Ganga Paudel Baral, and Journalist Nepali's spouse Sabita Basnet.
Also participating in the event included Maoist Center Central Member Dinesh Maharjan, Press Center Founder Manarishi Dhital, Valley Province In-charge Nirmal Gyawali, and Coordinator of the outgoing Accounts Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Lekhnath Neupane, among others.
Similarly, Journalist Nawaraj Dahal was also awarded with the 'Krishna Sen Ichchhuk Journalism Award-2080' along with a cash prize at the event.
Likewise, journalists Surendra Chalise, Basudev Shrestha, Dil Bahadur Thokar, Ram Prasad Dhakal, Pralhad Sharma Humagai, Rammani Ghimire, and Gokarna Baral were presented with the Lalitpur Journalism Award at the program.
The convention has unanimously formed a 17-member working committee of the Press Center Nepal, Lalitpur chapter led by Deepak Aryal.
Krishna Paudel and Usha Kumari Kafle have been elected as vice-chairpersons, Sagar Devkota as secretary, Roshan Lama and Bisu Gurung as joint-secretaries, while Man Bahadur BK has been appointed as treasurer.
Similarly, Pasang Ghising, Gopal Silwal, Prithvi Raj Joshi, Anil Kumar Shrestha, Bipin Ghimire, Kamal Yonjan Tamang, among others have been elected as members of the committee.
