Death toll from Makawanpur road accident hits 2

The death toll in the Makawanur road accident has reached two after one more injured passed away.  

Police have stated that 50-year-old Sunita Shrestha, a resident of Gadyauli, Rapti Municipality-2, Chitwan, who was seriously injured in the accident, succumbed to injuries during treatment at Alive Hospital at Bharatpur on Friday evening.

On Saturday, a Scorpio, Bagmati Province 01-026 Cha 5250, which was heading to Chitwan from Hetauda, collided with a car, Ba 16 Cha 8324, coming from the opposite direction at Manahari in Makawanpur.

Earlier, 60-year-old Surendralal Shrstha, the driver of the car died and13 others were injured in a road mishap at Manahari-6 of Makawanpur district on Saturday, said DSP Shyamu Aryal, the District Police Office (DPO), Hetauda.

Three people traveling in the car and 10 people in a jeep were seriously hurt in the mishap, shared DSP Aryal. He further said that a majority of the injured ones received bruises in their hands, feet and other parts of their body.

All injured ones were sent to Alive Hospital at Bharatpur for further treatment, shared DSP Aryal.
